Frames

Window frames play a huge role in the energy efficiency of your home with poorly fitted, or older frames, leaking warm air and leading to much higher energy bills than necessary for a property of your size.

Our highly energy efficient Camden frames, on the other hand, are designed to do the opposite, with in-built internal chambers that prevent heat loss by acting as a barrier between your home and the outside world.

Double glazing Dunfermline

Installing new double or triple glazing is a fantastic investment to make, reducing your energy bills, reducing your carbon footprint, and increasing the value of your home.

Our uPVC double glazed windows come in a number of different types with casement windows, tilt and turn windows, sash windows, and french windows all available with the same top quality workmanship and security features.

Glazing

With two or three layers of energy efficient glass, each separated by a layer of Argon gas, our double and triple glazed glass is carefully manufactured to maximise energy efficiency.

Thermo-spacer bars are also fitted between panes to prevent cold spots from forming on the glass close to the frame and limit the chances of condensation.

Sustainability

Since our foundation back in 1988, Advanced has always been committed to meeting the challenges of the future, and we don’t intend on changing now.

All aspects of our business are designed with sustainability in mind with 80% of the materials used in our frames coming from recycled sources and as much waste materials as possible processed at a recycling centre.

By taking this approach we have prevented over 150 tonnes of waste from going directly to landfill.

‘A’ Rated Energy Efficiency

It is not only our own sustainability we are passionate about.

By designing the most energy efficient double glazing products possible, we also help our customers to reduce their own carbon footprint.

Each and every one of our double and triple glazed windows are ‘A’ rated for energy efficiency, thanks to technologies such as a Soft Coat Xtra coating and Argon gas filling.

This has allowed us to achieve some of the best U-values (the measure of a window’s energy efficiency), anywhere on the market, with our standard double glazing boating an impressive 1.4 W/m2K.

You will also have the option of reducing this further to 1.2 W/m2K, or by choosing from our triple glazing range, an exceptional 0.8 W/m2K.

To maximise the noticeable glazing area of your window, all the glazing gaskets on our windows are contained within the frame of the window itself, guaranteeing that gasket rubber is concealed and does not disturb your view.

Security

Windows and doors are the gateways to your home.

It is crucial they are as secure as possible in ofter to protect your property and loved ones from the threat of potential intruders.

For this reason, we take security seriously, and all our window and door products are designed to enhance the safety of any property they are installed in.

We have carefully tested and installed a number of intruder proof features in our double glazing units including:
  • Multi-point locking systems
  • Internal glazing bead that cannot be removed from the exterior
  • Reinforced hinges and doors
  • Fully welded frames

We test all the hardware components of our windows with salt spray for 600 hours (3 times the industry average) to ensure they are long lasting and will remain strong for years to come.

Laminated and reinforced toughened glass options are also available.

Window Types

No matter what house type you live in, from a traditional thatched cottage to a bespoke modern new-build, we have the perfect doors and windows to match.

Some of our most popular window types are:

Casement Windows

Casement windows are the most common window style in the UK.

This is no surprise given that they are also the most energy efficient, not to mention being incredibly practical and secure.

Casement windows will be attached to the window frame either from the top or the side.

Tilt and Turn Windows

Similar in design to the casement window, tilt and turn windows feature an additional level of practicality thanks to an innovative hinge system that allows them to be opened either from the top or side.

When in the turn position, opened from the side, tilt and turn windows can be used as an emergency fire escape option.

French Windows

With two separate openings that can be opened individually or together, french windows operate in the same manner as the incredibly popular french doors.

French windows are extremely stylish and elegant and will give your home the wow factor, as well as giving you almost unlimited options in terms of ventilation.

Frequently
Asked Questions

1. What sets apart "sash" windows from "casement" windows?

Sash windows are characterized by their traditional design, featuring a vertical sliding motion. On the other hand, casement windows offer greater flexibility with openers that can be pushed out or tilted in.

2. Do timber effect sash windows closely resemble real timber?

Our uPVC timber effect windows boast high-quality custom-made decorative finishes, providing a remarkably realistic appearance. We meticulously match these windows to existing frames, ensuring they are virtually indistinguishable from real timber, even at a distance.

3. What is the typical installation time for windows and doors?

The installation duration varies depending on site conditions and complexity. Generally, a two-person installation team can complete three to six windows per day.

4. Who installs your windows?

We exclusively deploy our fully trained and accredited in-house installers for all our projects.

5. Will removing window and door frames impact wiring or electrics in my home?

Typically, this is not an issue. However, if wiring is encountered during installation, work may be paused until a qualified electrician ensures a safe working environment.

6. Can burglars easily gain entry by removing the glass from your windows?

No, our Premier range features internally glazed windows, preventing the removal of glass from the outside unless it is broken. Glass removal can only occur from the inside.

7. Do your windows offer child safety features?

Certainly, we offer various safety and security solutions tailored to your needs. Our team will recommend the most suitable options at competitive prices.

8. Is cleaning obscure or decorative glass challenging?

No, as the pattern is on the inside of the pane, the outer surface of obscure or decorative glass is smooth, facilitating easy cleaning.

9. Do you have sash windows that tilt inwards for cleaning?

Yes, we offer such windows; however, sash horns cannot be included as they interfere with the tilting frame.
